Osteochondrosis (OCD)
Description
Osteochondrosis (OCD) does not appear as a mandatory or recommended examination in any breeding programme approved by Dierenwelzijn Vlaanderen (DWV). There is therefore no breeding advice for it either. The breed profile shows which examinations apply to a breed. In four breeding programmes (including the Bichon Frisé and the Toy Poodle), the abbreviation OCD stands for a different condition, osteochondrodysplasia, which is checked with a DNA test.

We are rebuilding the health information for each breed from the official breeding programme of Dierenwelzijn Vlaanderen (Animal Welfare Flanders). Until then, you can find the mandatory and recommended health tests for this breed in the breeding programmes under the Flemish Breeding Decree (Fokkerijbesluit). View the official breeding programmes
