Patellar luxation
Description
In patellar luxation (PT), the kneecap (patella) can move out of its normal position. In part of the breeding programmes approved by DWV, PT is a mandatory or recommended examination, by palpation of the kneecap from 1 year, once. The result is a grade from 0 (no luxation) to 4 (permanently luxated and cannot be put back by hand); the grade of the most affected knee counts as the final grade. The grades and the breeding advice are explained under the examination 'Patellar luxation: palpation of the kneecap'.
